GRANT GUIDELINES

Qualifications → Only non-profit 501 (c) (3) organizations
  → Funds must remain in the State of Texas

GRANTS must be used for charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes and strictly in accordance with the proposal and budget submitted. All unexpended funds must be returned to the Foundation. Any scholarship funds granted are made to institutions and are administered by those institutions.

GRANTS will not be given to individuals.

THE FOUNDATION WILL:

Each applicant should submit the following:

  1. Application Form (download from website)

  2. Exhibit "A" IRS Determination Letter indicating 501(c)(3) exempt classification

  3. Exhibit "B" Current Tax Return or audited financial statements. (Not applicable for church's that do not file returns.)

  4. Exhibit "C" Copies of Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and a listing of current Board of Director's to include addresses and phone numbers.

  5. Exhibit "D" A brief history of the organization. This should include past programs/projects, number of persons served, and future goals of organization.

  6. Exhibit "E" A description of the project for which grant funds are being requested. This description should include the purpose and goals to be achieved. Include a budget if available.

The organization will keep and maintain records of expenditures adequate to readily verify the use of the grant funds.

The organization will cooperate fully with the Ed Rachal Foundation's independent auditors in the completion of the Foundation's annual audit.

Please Note:

The Foundation will acknowledge receipt of applications. However, the Board of Directors meet 4 times a year and will affirm the approval, denial, or request for more information at its next regularly scheduled meeting.

Organizations are welcome to submit a written application at any time of the year; however, because of the large volume of grant applications, requests from the same organization can be considered only once every twelve months. Please be advised that the time required to process a proposal is generally 90 to 120 days.

It is not necessary to place the application in a folder or binder.

Applications sent by fax are NOT accepted.
